1. Take a Deep Breathe

Hey, transitioning from one database to another is not easy. There’s a new program to learn, a workflow to implement, and whole slew of other things to worry about. We get it, and it wasn’t easy for us to transition from a database we used for 15+ years. But in our opinion, it’s made our operations even better than what it was before.

If we can do it, so can you.

If you haven’t already done it, grab some peanut M&M’s (or your favorite candy), let your staff members play in the Isaac Sandbox, and share Isaac tutorials (coming soon) with your team. This will help get everyone up to speed and comfortable with the program.

Export Your Data

2. Export & Organize Your Data

In order for us to add your information into Isaac, you’ll want to export either an Excel or CSV file from the database you are currently using to manage your membership, projects, equipment and classes. This is also a great time to clean up that information if you would like. Do you really need to import that discarded tripod from 1997? Eh, probably  not. But it’s your choice to either keep or delete that information.

It also helpful to include other internal information such as membership types, nomenclature on how you organize equipment, and even classes descriptions. We’ll do our best to get this information into Isaac as quick as possible so you can be up and running without any hitches.

Upload

3. Upload Files & Fill Out Questionnaire

You can upload a CSV or Excel file of your database, or a Doc or TXT file with additional information about your organization that would be relevant to the importing process. You can upload as many as five files.

Success

4. Congratulations

If you’ve successfully uploaded your file, your database will then be ready in no time. You’re on your way to better organizing your media center.

This has been a long journey. Transitioning from one database to another can be time-consuming, but you’re in good hands. If you have any questions along the way, you know how to reach us.

Thank You!
